OMNI Data’s Approach
Challenge
One of our key customer is a multinational manufacturing company needed to share data with all 30+ international locations. The technical challenge was to transfer this data to remote offices/plants using their existing low bandwidth connections to prevent a major increase in infrastructure costs.
Approach
OMNI Data consultants met with the client to understand the critical issues affecting this problem. OMNI Data brought in specialists to understand the clients’ business needs/cycles, software usage, and hardware and infrastructure requirements. Our consultants documented and reviewed the finding then developed a project plan and timetable to meet these objectives. The proposed solutions consisted of Fortinet Firewalls utilizing VPN technologies. Our account managers brought in a team with both project management and technical expertise. The team implemented a pilot program and deployed the technology in a methodical and controlled fashion. In addition, they provided daily management, support, client training and comprehensive documentation.
Result
The client saved significant resources compared to alternatives designed to increase bandwidth, and the company now has a robust, stable environment with accurate documentation. OMNI Data consultants subsequently transferred their operating knowledge to the client’s internal administration who now support this new architecture, along with being centrally monitored by OMNIwatch.
